Ramona Diaz bags a George Foster Peabody Award for Film “A Thousand Cuts”

Filipino-American filmmaker and Assumption alumna Ramona Diaz receives the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for her film, “A Thousand Cuts”.

Under the Documentary category, Peabody Award jurors cite “A Thousand Cuts” for its astonishing success and chilling precision.

The award-winning filmmaker in her recorded message said, “… ‘A Thousand Cuts’ was honored with the Peabody. It came at a time when I was questioning the value of filmmaking, the role of a storyteller at the time of massive disinformation. So thank you, Peabody. With this honor, I feel that the world is still listening. That what happens in a corner of this earth in Southeast Asia still matters.”

Congratulations, Ramona, on your well-deserved success! Your Assumption family is proud of you!
