Assumption College San Lorenzo ushers in a new school year, “a new way of being”, with its College Dean at the helm.

The College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ma. Margarita M. Ladrido as the OIC, Dean of the Higher Education Division (HED).

In her speech during Blue Is Best 2022, she imparts these words, “Being the best… It’s inside of you. It’s your mindset. You have to keep giving your best.” Dr. Ladrido brings to Assumption College nothing but the best with her plenteous experience in education innovation as well as visionary strengths. As the pioneer of our signature Ability-based Learning (ABLe) pedagogy, Dr. Ladrido is currently the AVP for Learning Innovation of the Institution. She has served as Chairperson of the Education Department, Director for Senior High School of the Basic Education Department (BED), and Chairperson of the General Education Department.

Dr. Ladrido earned her doctoral degree in Philosophy, Major in Educational Psychology, from the University of the Philippines. She obtained her Master of Arts in Education, Major in Education Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology both from the Ateneo de Manila University. She graduated from Assumption College San Lorenzo High School in 1988.

Dr. Ladrido started teaching in Assumption in 1992 as a preschool teacher, and after a year, took a turn to build a career in different corporations and foundations that helped solidify her achievements. She returned to the Institution in 2008 as a professor and eventually became a Chairperson in the Higher Education Division.

Dr. Ladrido is an advocate for women and youth empowerment, furthering her commitment to the mission of the Assumption. Hallmarks of her career have centered on literacy, assessment, leadership, school innovation, epistemological beliefs, self-regulated learning, and cognitive flexibility— all for fulfilling meaningful collaboration and transformative education.
