Teaching Reading Certificate Courses for year 2022-2023

The Education Department of Assumption College San Lorenzo has partnered with the Center for Reading Assessment and Intervention, Inc. (CRAIN) to empower teachers (and parents who homeschool) as well future teachers to learn the basics of reading education.

This intensive and applied course designed by Reading Specialist, Mr. Victor Villanueva will provide a theoretical background coupled with formal and informal instruction strategies aimed at supporting reading development. It is designed to help teachers and parents address literacy learning gaps that may have occurred with learning online/learning from home. Reading is a crucial skill for academic success in all subjects and children with poor literacy foundations struggle throughout their academic life.

What is a Virtual Open House? It is a bi-annual event when Assumption College invites prospective female students onto their virtual campus and experience what their college life might look and feel like.

Who may be referred?

• Grade 12 students or incoming college freshmen

• College transferees

• ALS & A&E passer, 2nd degree applicant, homeschool students, 4th year HS graduates

• Plus, parents with daughters looking for a college for the next school year

How to refer?
