The fight for freedom stems from valor, sacrifice, and love of country.
Assumption San Lorenzo joins the Filipino people in commemorating the heroism of our nation’s freedom fighters and in honoring our hard-fought independence. On this day, and everyday, may we carry our Assumption values of leadership and national citizenship. Stand against oppression, inequality, and injustice. Never falter, lose strength or purpose.

A Blessed Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
O Blessed Mother Assumed into Heaven, after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, we rejoice that you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in Heaven by the Holy Trinity.
Lift our hearts with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity.
Teach us how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make us realize that death is the triumphant gate through which we shall pass to your Son and that someday our bodies shall rejoin our souls in the unending bliss of heaven.

In our last installment of excerpts from the recent graduation of Assumption College San Lorenzo Class 2022, we feature the award-winning Filipino-American documentary filmmaker, Ramona Diaz. An Assumption alumna and, most recently, a George Foster Peabody awardee, Diaz encourages Class 2022 to speak up.
“Speak up. If something seems unfair, if something does not make sense, if there is an injustice, speak up. Be critical without being disagreeable. Be skeptical without being pessimistic. Listen to your heart. Your conscience tells you what is right. Always listen to your better angels. Speaking truth is prayer in action. Action is prayer made manifest.”
May this be a reminder of the spirit and values of the Assumption that impact the life of every “woman of faith and action.”
Assumption Alumnae Association (AAA) President Tina Nakpil challenged the recent graduates of Class 2022 as she inducted them into the AAA. That “But doing the right thing in the spirit of love and kindness, in the spirit of duty and service, is never ever wasted.”
As we look back at the recent graduation of Assumption College San Lorenzo Class 2022, we are all reminded of the spirit and values of the Assumption that impact the life of every “woman of faith and action.”
Today, we look back at Assumption College San Lorenzo’s recent graduation of Class 2022. We will feature, in series the words of Assumption graduates which impact the life of every “woman of faith and action.” Our most recent graduate is Batch 2022’s Summa Cum Laude and Saint Marie Eugenie Award Recipient, Denisse Kyle Virtucio.
With the theme “Nevertheless, we will persist!”, Batch 2022 has, indeed, exhibited strength and discipline in powering through the odds brought about by the past 2 years.
True to our student-centric approach, Assumption College San Lorenzo is continuously committed to building character and inspiring exciting futures for our graduates no matter how challenging. We look forward to seeing our graduates persist in their future endeavors whilst remaining steadfast in their Assumption faith and values as they are now called to lead.
