Congratulations to Assumption College alumnae, Leanne Mamonong and Naara Acueza, popularly known as the pop duo Leanne and Naara, for their win at the 34th Awit Awards! 🎶

Organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), the award-giving body recognizes exceptional artists and their work. Leanne and Naara took home the Best R&B Recording award for their hit “Too Soon”; and one of the top awards, Album of the Year for their debut album, “Daybreak”! 🏆

The pop duo describes Daybreak in a poetic announcement on Instagram as, “This is all your sleepless nights turned into songs. Isolation and loneliness oftentimes lead to the most introspective moments, but just as the colors of sky change, our deepest, most personal thoughts and feelings are gone with it, and a new dawn rises.”

Leanne and Naara were also nominated in the following categories— Best Jazz Recording, Best Traditional / Contemporary, Folk Recording, Best World Music Recording, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

As Performing Arts graduates, Leanne and Naara have always shown exceptional talent and passion for their craft, earning them not only prestigious awards but also, a global following and over a million plays on YouTube and Spotify. 🎉
